Lillian Hellman said of Mary McCarthy that everything she wrote was a lie, “even ‘and’ and ‘the’.” Hellman may or may not have been right about McCarthy, but she was right about one thing – everything about writing is personal. “And” and “the” included.

What is thrilling about coaching individual writers is helping them find what they really want to write about, then finding ways to do it. Every person’s passions are different. Every writer’s obstacles are unique. Each writer’s journey is singular, an adventure. I love to help them navigate that adventure.
